The Willow
Last summer, after a long walk, I sat, looking out towards the lake. And there I saw this willow! Weirdly, I felt a connection...
The Willow
The aging willow looked down at me, as I sat upon a bench beside her.
‘Oh my how time has flown’, she seemed to say,
‘Just look at my scraggly bark and twisted branches!’
I looked and touched her aging trunk,
And felt her strength and stability still.
I asked permission to draw her beauty
So I could look upon her and remember her resilience to the pressures of this life.
I would love to read your comment. Just a word to let me know that you’ve read and seen my post. Thank you for taking the time to look. Peace.
Yours is a beautiful photograph of an aging willow! I just love the way you have captured the play of light against the rough bark. Willows are a perfect balance of grace and strength. Thank you!
Lovely! <3 I love willows too!
